L-Tronics receivers are specifically designed to locate aircraft Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs), marine Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), and Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs). They can also be used in other services, such as finding stuck mikes on public service frequencies, cable TV line faults, and scientific research transmitters. Even though satellite detection on 121.5 and 243.0 are being phased out, all 406 MHz emergency beacons sold in the United States and most other countries are required to have a 121.5 MHz homing transmitter, All L-Tronics Direction Finding equipment will track them by using that frequency.

L-Tronics is now delivering the LL-16 Little L-Per* Portable Direction Finder, our new, upgraded version of the LH Series Little L-Per Portable Direction Finder. Price is $750.  The delays that happened in November through February are now resolved and delivery times are now less than 60 days.  Features include:
 
  • Synthesized receiver (no more crystals); makes it easily programmable from the keyboard
  • Frequency range 108 MHz to 174 MHz and 215 MHz to 270 MHz, AM and FM. Preprogrammed with 121.5, 121.775, 243., Marine Channel 16.)
  • Built-in antenna and handle; no more loose pieces, no need to change antennas
  • High-impact plastic case and stainless steel exposed metal parts resist corrosion
  • Lightweight, waterproof (even floats)
  • Takes commonly available AA batteries
  • Simultaneous signal strength and left-right homing indications on LCD display
  • Easy, intuitive to use. All DF techniques used on LH Series apply to LL-16

The same external antennas (vehicle, aircraft) used with LH Series can be used with LL Series

The new LL-16 Little L-Per is extremely easy to use and is ideal on airport ramps or marinas and harbors. However, its sensitivity performance is nearly equal to the older LH Series units in long range DF situations. A variety of optional accessories allows you to customize the equipment to meet particular needs of various fields of service.

While the LH and LA Series Direction Finders are no longer in production or available from the factory, L-Tronics continues to support them by offering repair service and parts, as well as accessories. We also offer a Bulletin Board for customers to list equipment wanted or for sale.
